Hello Reader, Do you have a rising high school freshman, sophomore or junior in your life? In other words you have someone in your life who would be in grade 9, 10, or 11 by September of this year? Or are you someone who fits this description? If so please read on. If not, please forward this to somebody who fits the above description. I encourage you use CARA in your college planning. The College Admission Readiness Audit (CARA) is a detailed assessment and report that will help prepare your family for the college admission cycle. It starts with a detailed questionnaire that assesses your student's preparedness for applying to college. This is followed by a detailed assessment result and an hour-long call to go over the results. Bottom line, you get recommendations on what to be doing now, to set your prospective college student up for success when it comes time to apply to colleges. The assessment will cover the main areas of our CFF College Fully Funded® framework: college list, academic record, extra-curricular and leadership record, and more. Wouldn't it be nice to start preparing 1, 2, and 3 years ahead of time and avoid the last-minute scramble and panic? Summer is the best time to take advantage of CARA so that your prospective college student goes into the new school year in the fall with a clearly mapped out plan. Are you ready for CARA? If so, sign up here. If you have questions, please feel free to reach out. I can't wait to work with your family on this. Looking forward to hearing from you. To college fully funded,

The College Affordability-Democracy Nexus As college costs rise and alternatives are promoted, I examine why higher education still matters—for students, families, and democracy. January 11, 2026 In this first newsletter of 2026, we are picking up where we left off in our last issue: the question so many families are asking right now — is college still worth it? As I shared previously, for most people who would enjoy college and are prepared for its academic rigor, the answer remains yes. The...
Year-End Reflections: Is College Still Worth It? In our final newsletter of the year, we reflect on grief, gratitude, and why helping students secure college admission with full funding matters now more than ever. Why access, affordability, and full funding must be part of the conversation December 23, 2025 As we arrive at almost the end of December—and the close of another year—I want to pause and acknowledge something important. We made it. And yet, even as we give thanks for life, this...
